The main factors affecting the blasting strength of shot blasting machines

① The larger the size of the projectile, the greater the impact energy, and the stronger the projectile strength, but the coverage rate of the projectile decreases. Therefore, while ensuring the strength of the throwing (spraying) pellets, smaller throwing (spraying) pellets should be selected as much as possible. In addition, the size of shot blasting is also limited by the shape of the parts. When there are grooves on the parts, the diameter of the shot should be less than half of the radius of the inner circle of the groove. The particle size of the throwing (spraying) pill is often selected between 6 and 50 mesh.
② When the hardness of the throwing (spraying) pill is higher than that of the part, the change in its hardness value does not affect the strength of the throwing (spraying) pill; When the throwing (spraying) pill is softer than the part, if the hardness value of the throwing (spraying) pill decreases, the strength of the throwing (spraying) pill also decreases.
③ When the speed of throwing (spraying) pellets increases, the strength of throwing (spraying) pellets also increases, but when the speed is too high, the amount of damage to throwing (spraying) pellets increases.
④ When the jet angle of the projectile is perpendicular to the surface to be sprayed, the intensity of the projectile is highest, so it should generally be maintained in this state for projectile treatment. If it is necessary to use small angle shot blasting due to the shape limitation of the part, the shot blasting size and speed should be appropriately increased.
⑤ The fragmentation amount of the shot (spray) is low, and the kinetic energy of the shot fragments is low. The more broken the shot (spray), the lower the shot blasting intensity. Moreover, irregular fragments can scratch the surface of the parts. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly remove the fragments to ensure that the integrity rate of the shot (spray) is greater than 85%. The equipment for throwing (spraying) pills is basically the same, only some auxiliary devices need to be used to more strictly control the throwing (spraying) pill process.
